Community Development Committee is also accepting applications to assist with the community development. The Town Council created the Community Development Committee at their February Annual Retreat. This Committee will comprise of 7 members (includes 2 Council Members) and can accept applicants from the Midland area. Members don't have to live within the Town limits to participate and should live within the identified Midland service area. Recruitment for the new Midland EDC
The Town of
Midland is seeking qualified individuals for its new Economic Development Committee, (EDC). The committee should work jointly with the Cabarrus County EDC to:”Responsibly recruit new businesses, new development and support existing businesses within the Town of
Midland and its service area.” To accomplish this, the Midland EDC must work toward creating and developing a positive business environment for existing, expanding and new businesses. The Midland EDC must also ensure that employment opportunities are created, expanded and diversified; and work to maintain, enhance and expand all types of infrastructure within the Midland Service Area, which will assist in expanding and diversifying the tax base for the Town and
Cabarrus County.
The new committee will consist of 1 elected Councilmember, 1 MBA member, Council’s appointed EDC Representative from
Midland to the Cabarrus County EDC and 2 other volunteers appointed by Town Council.
